Hi Mike, the site looks great, well done matey.
Thought I’d best mention one thing though. I’ve noticed that each time I visit the site I have to adjust my screen or sitting position in order to view the peach/orange text without straining. I have most difficulty with the text in the navigation bar to the left hand side (particularly the longer entries, under ‘latest discussions’ which I have to concentrate on to keep in focus). I’ve been finding it a little uncomfortable (the light text is creating the same effect as those t-shirts guys on holiday wear that say ‘Dazed and Confused’ in blurry writing).
It could well just be me, but I thought I’d mention it.
Bests,
Nick

After I left my last comment ‘latest discussions’ read “nick williams on mike fallows”..I found that funny and thought I’d mention it. will it say “nick williams on nick williams now”? that’s gonna make me laugh.
This is my one and only silly post. I’ll stop abusing the site now. Apologies.

Ha. I’m glad you like it Nick.
I was tempted to put in my post “any feedback on the site welcome - but if you don’t like orange, **** off.” as a joke, but I do actually want feedback on it - and a good point you’ve raised.
It’s a bit distressing that you are having difficulty with the text as I really don’t think the orange/peach is too high in the spectrum. But I agree that on the longer entries in the sidebar, the text is a little difficult to read (partly due to the short line lengths) so I’m considering dulling the peach a little across the site and perhaps changing the link colours for the Latest Discussion/Recent Posts section. Or perhaps making the background of the menu darker, so that it sinks back more?
I’ve tried to design the site towards being content focussed and as such the colour scheme is essentially pretty simple. Therefore I could considering making a couple of colour schemes available that individual users could choose between further down the line.
Now it will say Mike Fallows on Mike Fallows…
